Authorities Identify Matassa Glenette Moore, 49, After Discovery Inside Vehicle Near Whiteville High School on August 28, 2026
Authorities identified Matassa Glenette Moore, 49, after Whiteville Police found Matassa deceased inside an abandoned vehicle in Whiteville, North Carolina.
On August 28, 2026, at approximately 1:36 p.m., officers responded to West College Street, across from Whiteville High School.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation assisted with processing the scene, and officials transported Matassa to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Raleigh for an autopsy and further analysis.
Authorities had not released a cause of death as of September 2, 2026, and police said they do not currently suspect foul play.
The investigation remains ongoing while officials await further information.
