Gregory Roush, 55, Of Point Pleasant Remembered After Discovery At Mason Police Department In Mason County, West Virginia
Gregory Roush, 55, of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, is being remembered with care and dignity after officers found Roush deceased on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, inside a spare Mason Police Department vehicle.
West Virginia State Police said surveillance footage showed Roush drove into the department parking lot on Sunday, August 30, 2026, entered an unlocked police vehicle, and climbed into the rear seat.
Roush’s vehicle stayed in the parking lot for several days before a family friend noticed it, grew concerned, and contacted the Mason Police Department.
Officers reviewed the surveillance video, went outside to check the vehicle, and found Roush in the rear seat.
Authorities transported Roush to the West Virginia Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy to determine the official cause and manner of passing.
Investigators said they do not expect foul play, and the inquiry remains ongoing.
