Ashton Palone, a 4-year-old child from Sodus, NY, died after a backyard pool emergency on August 27, 2026.
Ashton loved pools and water, including the pool at home, where the emergency occurred.
An ambulance took Ashton to Clifton Springs Hospital in critical condition, and medical teams soon transferred Ashton by Mercy Flight to Golisano Children’s Hospital.
Ashton remained in critical condition for 5 days before passing at about 11:24.
