Richard William Grubbs, 68, of Seneca, South Carolina, Dies After Two-Vehicle Crash on September 2, 2026, in Anderson County
Richard William Grubbs, 68, of Seneca, South Carolina, died on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, after a two-vehicle crash in Townville, Anderson County.
Anderson County 911 received a call shortly after 8 a.m. about a collision on Highway 243 at Jolly Road, where emergency crews found Grubbs trapped inside a vehicle.
First responders treated Grubbs at the scene before air transport to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital, where Grubbs died shortly after arrival.
Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore said a preliminary review indicates Grubbs was turning onto Highway 243 from Jolly Road when a box truck struck the vehicle.
The Anderson County Coroner’s Office said Grubbs died from multiple traumatic injuries and ruled the death accidental.
The Anderson County Office of the Coroner and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to review the circumstances of the crash.
