Silvia Bahena Remembered After Fatal Garage Incident At Tooele Home On August 31, 2026
Silvia Bahena, 37, died late Monday, August 31, 2026, inside a garage at a home on the 600 block of Kings Landing Road in Tooele, Utah.
Police said the incident began after a late-night argument, when a Toyota Tundra struck the back of Bahena’s white Tesla inside the garage.
Authorities said Bahena remained in the driver’s seat as the situation escalated, and officers arrived just before midnight.
Bahena’s four children were inside the home at the time and later alerted authorities after finding their mother unresponsive.
Police took Daniel Ruesga into custody at the scene, and authorities reported that he faces one first-degree count connected to Bahena’s death and four counts tied to the children’s presence.
Bahena’s death leaves family, friends, and the Tooele community mourning a parent whose life ended suddenly and painfully.
