Chris Fisher died in Warm Springs, Georgia, around 11:57 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, after a targeted drive-by attack ended a 16-year public safety career.

Fisher joined the Warm Springs Police Department in May and earned promotion to sergeant in July after colleagues recognized steady leadership and disciplined service.

Fisher began public service in 2010 as a jail officer in Heard County, later served with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, and also worked as a sergeant in Meriwether County.

Records cited in the post note more than 1,500 hours of state training, including advanced response and medical readiness courses.
