Torren O’Grady Remembered After Wednesday Morning School Bus Incident Near Ravenwood Road In North Stonington
Torren O’Grady, a sixth-grade student at North Stonington Elementary School, died on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, after a school bus incident before classes began.
The incident happened at approximately 8:30 a.m. in a neighborhood area near Ravenwood Road in North Stonington, Connecticut.
Connecticut State Police said the bus traveled east on Old Colony Road and turned left toward Pinecrest Road when the collision occurred near the left front wheel.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Torren O’Grady died from the severe harm caused by the incident.
North Stonington Public Schools confirmed the loss and worked with Connecticut State Police and the North Stonington Resident Trooper’s Office as authorities continued reviewing the circumstances.
The district released students early and made counseling support available for students, families, caregivers, and staff.
The Congregational Church of North Stonington also opened its doors so residents could gather, grieve, and support one another.
