Scott Pannell, 42, of Fulton, Mississippi, died Wednesday afternoon, September 2, 2026, after a workplace accident near the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway in Itawamba County.
Pannell worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and supervised a cleanup project near the waterway when a tree fell and caused fatal injuries.
Emergency personnel responded, and authorities pronounced Pannell deceased at the scene.
